Wondering About Our Weather in May…

May is one of our favourite months – Mother Nature is waking up from her winter hibernation and warmly embracing us as we head into summer. The leaves on the trees are popping a new lime green colour. The early flowers like tulips, irises, and crocuses are in full bloom. We are shedding our down-filled jackets, toques (it’s a Canadian thing), and woolly socks for shorts, t-shirts, and yes – sandals (ok, maybe with socks).

The average temperature in Calgary in May is a very pleasant 65 degrees F or 18 degrees C.

Our warm Calgary spring celebrates renewed energy as our days get longer – much longer. Sunset will occur at 9:11 PM on May 9, 2027 (Google it!). This is a natural phenomenon for us – we play 18 holes of golf AFTER a full day’s work. Many southern Skal members do not experience this incredible extended daylight at home. So come experience it in Calgary!
